Our Chapters

WiN Canada has eight chapters across the country, each hosting local professional development and networking events, technical tours, and community outreach activities.

Bruce

WiN-Bruce encompasses the geographical area of Southwestern Ontario including Bruce County, Grey County, through to Cambridge and London, Ontario. The Bruce Chapter welcomes members from Bruce Power, Ontario Power Generation, Ian Martin, AECL, AMEC NCL, Babcock & Wilcox, Nuclear Safety Solutions and Merlin General.

Golden Horseshoe

WiN-Golden Horseshoe West (GHW) is located in Ontario and encompasses the geographical area from the west end of Toronto through to Hamilton. Within this large area, there are a diverse group of companies providing products and services to the nuclear industry in Canada and internationally. These companies include, but are not limited to: the Candu Owner’s Group, Canadian Standards Association, SNC-Lavalin, Kinectrics, Nuclear Waste Management Organization, Promation, etc.

Durham

WiN-Durham covers the area on the east side of the Greater Toronto Area including Port Hope. The Chapter includes a diverse group of members, most working for Ontario Power Generation at the two nuclear power plants in the Durham region: Pickering with six operating units and Darlington with four operating units.

Eastern Ontario

WiN-Eastern Ontario (EO) encompasses the area along the Ottawa River from Ottawa to North Bay. This region includes Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commision, Canadian Nuclear Association, and other nuclear support and supply companies.

New Brunswick

The majority of WiN-New Brunswick (NB) members work at the Point Lepreau Generating Station. The Chapter also has members from Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Canadian Nuclear Energy Research and the University of New Brunswick.

WIM/WiN Saskatchewan

WIM/WiN-SK supports the goals and objectives of their parent organizations (WIM Canada and WiN Canada) in Saskatchewan. WIM/WiN-SK members work at a number of mining and nuclear companies in the province, including Cameco Corporation, Orano Canada, the Fedoruk Centre, SaskPower, and the University of Saskatchewan.

Alberta

WiN-Alberta is a provincial chapter, working to develop centres of activity in Edmonton and Calgary, and other areas of the province as a nuclear industry is formed in Alberta.  The Chapter is made up of individuals that are contributing to the development of a nuclear industry in the province.

WiN Manitoba

WiN Manitoba encompasses the area of Manitoba and Western Ontario. This region includes Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, and other support and supply companies.
